  • The annual Hillside School Art Show will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013  from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.  We welcome all Hillside students and their families  to view  the spectacular works of art created by the preschool through third grade students this year.

  • BIRDS OF PREY Birds of Prey
    On Friday, May 17th, the Hillside third grade was invaded by wonderful birds of prey!  Owls, falcons, and eagles came to visit with their trainer, Mr. Jonathan Wood.  The third grade was mesmerized by these beautiful birds. Mr. Wood brought us many different species of birds, many that we do not get to see here in NJ.  He even brought us a few newly hatched chicks that were only a few days old.  The third grade was thrilled to see our new friends and learn all about these wonderful creatures.  We are looking forward to beginning our unit on Wetlands and Birds.  This was a great introduction!  Many thanks to AFEE for bringing this program to us every year!

  •  Hillside School Spring Concert
    Concert picture The Hillside School Spring Concert will be held on Friday, June 7th at 10:00 AM and 1:30 PM. The performance schedule is as follows: 
    If your child is in the following classes, please attend ONLY the 10:00 am performance
    If your child is in the following classes, please attend ONLY the 1:30 pm performance
    1 Heitman, 1 Merritt-Lish, 2 Pepper, 2 Rutowski, 2 Occhino, 3 ebneter, 3 Nadel
     
    When dressing your child on concert day, please be mindful that it will get very warm on the stage for the students.  Please do not dress them in layers or long sleeves.  The students are encouraged to wear yellow, black or blue shirts or dresses, perferably without writing on the front, that would reflect the theme of "Bee A Buddy" and school pride for the concert.

  • car Otto the Auto Safety Assembly
    Hillside kindergarteners and first graders enjoyed a recent visit from Otto the Auto and Mr. Mike from AAA who engaged the students in critical and fun traffic safety exercises.

  • 2013-2014 New Student Registration
    We welcome you and your child to Hillside School! The following pamphlet will provide you with more information about our school: Hillside School Overview. Please click on each link below to view our registration materials. Parents of those children already accepted into our preschool programs need only to complete the first two forms .Upon registration, we require that you provide us with proof of residency and proof of your child's date of birth, in addition to medical and immunization records. Please contact the main office staff should you have further questions.

Welcome to the Hillside School Website!
 
Hillside School is a vibrant learning community with a population of 375 students in grades preschool through three. Our educational philosophy is to foster an environment whereby all students can learn and achieve in a school that focuses on high standards for academics, talents and behaviors. Our emphasis is on the development of the whole child, including emotional and social growth, as well as academic progress. We want our students to become self-confident learners and independent thinkers with the capacity to collaborate effectively with others.
